- The analogue surface profile gauge is one of the most economic methods of measuring the peak-to-valley height of a blast cleaned surface.
- The blasted profile is measured very quickly and with a high degree of accuracy by operating the instrument as follows: place the profile gauge on the glass plate and zero the instrument. Now place the gauge on the blasted profile.
- The foot sits on top of the peaks and the sharp stylus travels to the bottom of the valleys allowing the gauge to display the peak-to-valley height.
- A number of measurements can be made to determine the average reading.
